Bellum is an experienced sorcerer and a commander who has served for decades in the regular army of North von Frosty.
However, it was not his allegiance to the state that had him stay for such a long time in the army. North von Frosty is at the northernmost tip of the continent, which makes it difficult to trade with other countries. Therefore, catalysts are expensive in North von Frosty. However, the army is willing and can afford to invest in competent sorcerers like Bellum. Bellum prefers staying at home reading books rather than going out since his childhood was unlike other North von Frosty men. Bellum also dislikes the hasty and violent personalities of many soldiers; he did not want to leave the most suitable environment to study magic on his own. He became a sorcerer sponsored by North von Frosty as he had hoped for, and could do as much research magic as he wanted. If the price was to deal with some hot-blooded soldiers, it was a deal worth taking. |
