Santos is the son of a blacksmith. His father wanted him to take over the family-owned forge; Santos preferred to make a name for himself and enrolled in the army.
However, the path of the soldier he chose for himself wasn't so easy. He was exhausted and he encountered life-threatening situations several times. The sleepless nights due to the horror of death and sense of guilt lingered. However, time solved all his problems. Over the years, he overcame his fears and became an excellent soldier. He also restored his relationship with his family. He still tells his story when new soldiers join the brigade. He goes on about how he overcame his fears and what helped him... His story continues for hours and doesn't seem to end. Every time he meets new soldiers, he talks for days. The story of Santos continues even though new soldiers doze off as they hear his story. The reason why he talks so much is that he wants them to be strong. |
